Ken Wilber in an Insightful Discussion on Integrating Spirituality, Science, and Human Development

Join an insightful discussion between Andrew Holecek and Ken Wilber on integrating spirituality, science, and human development. They discussed Wilber’s new book “Finding Radical Wholeness” and how it provides a comprehensive overview of waking up, growing up, opening up, cleaning up, and showing up as vectors of transformation. A major topic was distinguishing between waking up experiences and growing up stages, as well as clarifying the pre-trans fallacy around interpreting early fusion states as enlightenment. They also dialogued around expanding notions of matter and consciousness, with Wilber arguing that interiority exists at all scales from quarks to humans. Overall, the discussion provided valuable insights into integral theory, stages of human development, and how to apply these concepts through integral life practice to facilitate personal and social evolution.

Robert Lanza’s Theory of Everything: Biocentrism

Welcome to ‘Artificially Aware,’ where we delve into the profound intersections of science, philosophy, and the human experience. Today’s video is an exploration that will not only intrigue your intellect but may also transform your perspective on existence itself. In this thought-provoking presentation, we dissect “Biocentrism: Robert Lanza’s Theory of Everything,” a revolutionary concept that positions life and consciousness at the heart of the universe. As you embark on this journey with us, you’ll discover how biocentrism challenges the traditional view of a lifeless cosmos operating under indifferent laws, proposing instead that life is the catalyst shaping reality. Our video takes you through an immersive narrative, interwoven with insights from science and philosophy, to unveil how biocentrism suggests that the universe is akin to a grand piano, with life itself playing the keys. We explore the idea that time and space may not be rigid structures but are instead subjective realities shaped by our perceptions. Hear echoes from the past as we draw parallels with the thoughts of Plato, Descartes, and Kant, and see how their ideas resonate with Lanza’s perspective on the centrality of consciousness. We also examine the historical context of biocentrism, from the ancient Greeks to the Renaissance, and its modern-day implications for ethical decision-making, cultural expressions, and current debates on environmental and space exploration issues. This video is a must-watch for anyone curious about the deeper meanings of existence, the role of life in the cosmos, and the potential for a philosophical renaissance in our modern world. It’s a call to ponder our place and responsibility in the grand narrative of the universe.

Tukdam: The Point of Death

Irish director Donagh Coleman and Wildfire Films explore the extraordinary phenomenon of Tukdam, whereby some Tibetan Buddhist practitioners are able to forestall physical decay at the point of clinical death for days, even weeks, by entering a deep meditative state. Supported by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who appears in this film, a group of leading scientists conduct groundbreaking research into the phenomenon, which challenges Western medical understanding of the line between life and death.

This feature documentary explores a phenomenon that blurs life and death to an unprecedented degree. In what Tibetan Buddhists call ‘tukdam’, advanced meditators die in a consciously controlled manner. Though dead according to our biomedical standards, they often stay sitting upright in meditation; remarkably, their bodies remain fresh and lifelike, without signs of decay for days, sometimes weeks after clinical death. Following ground-breaking scientific research into tukdam and taking us into intimate death stories of Tibetan meditators, the film juxtaposes scientific and Tibetan perspectives as it tries to unravel the mystery of ‘tukdam’.

Find MORE Meaning WITHOUT Free Will! | Bernardo Kastrup Explains

We usually think that it is free will that gives meaning to life, but what if exactly the opposite is true, that the fact that we don’t have free will makes life meaningful? A couple of weeks ago Bernardo Kastrup, the executive director of the Essentia Foundation, wrote an essay (https://www.essentiafoundation.org/th…) arguing that, under objective idealism, the whole convulsiveness around free will is a meaningless red herring. In his opinion, the free will vs determinism debate misses the point, because fundamentally there is no distinction between nature’s will and what nature is necessitated to do. In other words: what we assume to be free will is, on a universal level, exactly the same as determinism. In this video ,Hans Busstra sits down with Bernardo Kastrup to discuss this line of reasoning while also trying to make it personal: why do we want free will so badly on a psychological level? Why, as a culture, do we usually associate determinism with nihilism and meaninglessness? The conversation covers Laplace’s Demon, computational irreducibility, and works towards Kastrup’s main point: if you can accept that, on a personal level, you don’t have free will, you realize that you are being ‘played’ by a universe that—due to computational irreducibility—cannot ‘see’ where it’s going before it goes. Instead of suffering as an effect of ‘bad’ free will decisions by human agents, suffering becomes part of the inevitable evolution of the universe
